OTC Eugene vs Oregon Project vs OTC Portland

OTC Elite vs Oregon Project vs Wisconsin University OTC Portland

Sooo, if any of you are like me, you have absolutely no idea WTF is going on with Oregon professional running circle. I thought there was one OTC, they all wore the same jersey at one point, so it made since that they were all a big team. But then I start hearing different coaches names and shxt about different groups, and so, I Google’d it.. And then I found out that Alberto Salazar’s group became the Oregon Project. And Now OTC has two official branches, one group trains in Eugene with Mark Rowland and the other group trains in Wisconsin Portland with Jerry Schumacher. So who runs the state?

Hi Gorgeous can I leave my eyes wit ya?

Peep the Tat.

YMOTC

So then comes the problem of sorting runner…who goes where??

Schumacher’s Group – Matt Tegankamp, Chris Solinsky, Evan Jager, Lopez Lomong, Andrew Bumbalough, Shalane Flanagan, and Kara Goucher.

Shalane Flanagan looking right

We're #1

Czech out that nose!!

Wearing a skullcap is like un-circumsizing your penis. Oh hai, Lopez.

Damn, that's messed up. Sha-Sha, you know you sexy

Al Sal’z Group – Galen Rupp, Alan Webb, Mo Farah, Dathan Ritz…., Matthew Centrowitz, Ciaran O’Lionard, and Kara Goucher.

Very Diverse.

Ritz may be old, but he put it on J-Mac

Peter Pan & Shaun White

Ebony & Ivory

Rowland’s Group – Jordan McNamara, Ashton Eaton, Jesse Williams, Andrew Wheating, AJ Acosta (trains with Wheating/Brown), Nick Symmonds, Sam Chelanga, Tyler Mulder, Sally Kipyego, Jemma Simpson, and Russell Brown. (Missing lots of people)

Must be legit, they have a team pic

#winning

Sally Kipyego and her brother husband.

Jesse Williams, your Linus is showing.

Needless to say, all three groups are very talented, but which group is better?

They all have:

  • poster boy’s (Solinsky, Rupp/Centrowitz, Symmonds/Wheating)
  • token black guy’s (Bairu/Lomong, Farah, Chelanga/½ McNamara/½ Mulder/possibly ¼ Eaton)
  • very fast women (Goucher/Flanagan, Rupp, Kipyego)
  • insane hair (Jager – Locks golder than Goldie’s, O’Lionard – Mullet of Champions, McNamara – Waves that make you seasick)
  • Daegu WC Medalist’s (Flanagan, Farah, Centrowitz, Williams, Eaton, Kipyego)

OTC Eugene > Oregon Project > OTC Portland

OTC Eugene is just too much, they have the distances covered from 800 to 10K, they have field events and Jemma Simpson is hot. If Oregon Project would have kept Kara Goucher, they’d most likely be the winners. OTC Portland is two ladies away from being a sausage fest.

Lawi Lalang vs. Chris Derrick

Lawi Vs. Chris

Last Spring when Lawi Lalang placed 2nd at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for 5000m, he was not really on anyone’s radar. The freshman was an All-American during the indoor season in the DMR and 3000m. He initiated the beef the day he hoped on his plane and flew to America. He knew exactly what he was doing.

let you win, because you are African.

And then, XC happened. Lawi Lalang went undefeated and broke numerous course records on his way to the NCAA Championship.

his stride is excellence.

the last time Lawi lost to a non African. Centro went on to win Bronze in Daegu.

Chris Derrick has been a great loser very consistent runner these past 4 years. He has multiple All-American awards for TAF and XC. He has raced against the likes of Sam Chelanga, Galen Rupp and Lawi Lalang. Unfortunately for him, he does not win when it counts. But he has and that what counts; because at the end of the day, the hardware does not matter. At least according to the person who started this thread… http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=4486836&page=0 .

Thumbs Up if you like losing. Quotes don't lie.

"Looks enough like Lalang to me!" - Chris Derrick

At the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships, Lalang and Derrick faced off again! First in the 5000m, Lalang and Derrick battled throughout the race and in the end, Lalang was just too strong for Derrick, winning with a Meet Record of 13:25.11 to Derrick’s 13:26.88.

All I do is win, WIN, wIn

The two competitors had a day to rest up and prepare for their battle over 3000m the next day, it would be an epic battle. Lalang and teammate Stephen Sambu controlled the majority of the race, but Derrick was not very far behind. At around 800m, Derrick made his first move to pass by Sambu and make his way around Lalang. He and Lalang traded the lead until the last 200m when Lalang summoned a kick that would give Bernard Lagat (circa 2006) a run for his money. But Derrick stayed on him and forced Lalang to run all the way through the line. Lalang ran a 7:46.64 and Derrick ran a 7:46.81. Valiant effort by both competitors, but Lalang again came out victorious.

should've gone to Oregon

Got'cho AZZ

And so that means ____________ is going to happen outdoor?

Well there are a couple of things that can happen:

  • Lalang will go pro, Derrick wins.
  • Lalang does not go pro, Lalang wins.
  • Lalang gets injured, Lalang wins.
  • Derrick can’t deal with constant failure, drops out, Lalang wins.
  • Lalang wins, but Derrick has so much , it explodes.

Upside down Swoosh, SWAGGGG

What the future holds?
  • Derrick signs with the OTC Eugene, because Schumacher and Salazar do not deal with scrubs, because he is on the west coast and his talents will be a better fit being able to train with Mcnamara and Chelanga
  • Maybe the US will buy another Kenyan convince Lalang to gain US Citizenship.
  • Derrick should make some World Championship teams, might even medal, never Gold.

get'cho game face on

Their heads are shaped the same...

Derrick < Lalang
